After a year of rehab for some blown discs, I finally decided that if I want to continue gigging, I need to lighten my load. First to go was the switch to a Fender Mustang RI. It gave me the light weight, thin short scale neck for my smaller hands and a sound that a really like. This week I got $225 at guitar center for my SVT cab -- what I paid for it two years ago out of rental from my regular music shop. I really liked that cab, but frankly, with the addition of some heavy duty 4-inch casters, it's tipping the scales at nearly 100 lbs. So I'm thinking about the 800 watt GK 410mbe 4 ohm at $449 and 41 lbs. I'd like to consider some other cabs, however, I'm not seeing much in that price/weight category. FWIW, my amp rack is fitted with an ART tubepac drive/compression unit into a Sansamp RBI into a Carvin DCM1015 power amp, which puts out 700w bridged at 8 ohms and 1k at 4 ohms. Any thoughts?
