| Start flat and work, (slowly) from there. There's no such thing as a "rock setting", or "jazz setting", etc, each players tecnique, as well as the room you're in, and even the position the amp is in, effect the sound of the amp. It's always best to start flat. Imo, an amp that doesn't sound near perfect flat is of no use to me. Have fun, and remember, small tweaks.
