sound distorted out of balance out. Help

Sign in to disble this ad
I run a vt bass through the effects return of my ampeg b2. Sounds great through the speakers but when I try to record a live practice through the balance out it sounds overdriven (distorted). Like i said I like the way it sounds trough the speakers. Am I doing something wrong ?

Try the ground switch on the back of your amp and try messing with the post/pre switch if ya got one. I dont really know my way around a b2 but I had a similar problem and we figured it out with a little effort. Also, check out the outlet you have the amp plugged into, many times wiring in walls can be a little crappy and not properly grounded/isolated

good luck!

Forget the ground switch and figure out if you're putting a line-level signal into a mic-level board input.

I'll keep trying. Because I'm bypassing the preamp of the b2 altoghether and using the vt pedal as my preamp I get no signal at all if I go post preamp on the back.( or maybe it's pre) I can't remenber. we are about to start playing live and i would like the signal out of the balance out to sound as good as it does coming out of the speakers.
