Speaker Blown?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Guys,

So I was having an issue with my EQ settings and I think I may have injured my speaker. I am running an Eden WT 1000 through an Aguilar 2x12.

I flattened the EQ, and it is clear at low volumes, but when I get louder, and hit the 5th fret on the E string, I get a lot of distortion.

At low volumes it is crystal clear. I don't hear the "flapping" sound in the speaker. Could this be an amp problem, or does it sound like I have damaged my cab?

Thanks,

Give the speaker a gentle poking and see if you can feel rubbing or see a gap opening at the edge. Actually, if it is specific to a note, some of the lining may have come loose and is flapping against something. Heard of that happening. Might be that simple, if you are lucky.
