What if any is the difference in using furniture grade ply instead of birch for building a tl606 type cab? Was also wondering on one these cabs if a slight change in deminsions will have much affect. instead of 23.5w x 19.75h x 17d going to 24w x 20h x 16d. Thanks.

Furnature grade ply has a high grade thin vineer glued to lower quality plies so it looks good when stained. As long as the plies are void free, and you are going to carpet/cover the cab, there is really no real gain in using it over cheaper, but sound, plywood. Baltic Birch (not just birch ply) is probably still the best. It is made of multiple high quality plies and is stronger, better to work with, denser, and a little heavier than most other types of plywood with the same thickness. I would seek that out.
The differences in those cabinets is .12 ft3. That's not much difference in size at all. Sealed...I wouldn't worry about it, but with a ported enclosure, you might want to tweak the port size a little to account for it if you are designing it yourself.

what they are calling funiture grade ply is actually cheaper than the birch, $33 a sheet compred to $44. I am adjusting the self port a little as a read on here before from 2" high to 3" high for the 3015.

If it has a thin outer veneer don't use it. BB has equal thickness plies.

the down side of cheaper ply grades is that knots etc. can loosen over time and rattle.....i'm not sure if it would be audible at a gig,but considering the savings involved you would be better off using the good stuff
