Speaker question from a rookie

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Quantum 210 that started sounding like it needed to be reconed( nails on a chalkboard bad). I bought the cab used 2 years ago. It has been a real workhorse. When I pulled the speakers there was a little crown symbol on the back of them. Quantum says that the speakers should be Eminence Neodynimum. When I look at pics of Eminence speakers, they don't look anything like these.
Questions:
Does anyone know what brand speaker would have a little crown on it(I know the obvious guess, but I can't find any info on crown amp company making replacement bass speakers)?
What is your opinion on reconing vs. replacing speakers?
The cab says 450 watts and is switchable from 4 to 16 ohms. So what should the resistance and wattage be on each replacement speaker?

I really appreciate the help. These may be stupid questions but like I said, I'm a rookie.

Thanks, Jeryl Golden, Denton, TX

The replacements should be 8Ω but it's not as simple as dropping new 10" drivers into the box.

Hopefully these pics will go through. Apparently they are Eminence, just not like the new ones.

Those are OEMs built on the original Deltalite frame, not the current Deltalite II. They're OEM because stock drivers don't have whizzer cones. I would think that Quantum would know what the specs are.
