Speaker Repairs Help!

Dropped my 2x10 markbass traveler twice and it stopped working.

Opened it up and the magnets have come off the speakers and have stuck together.

Can I fix this?

or go to the shop?

Won't shipping be cost prohibitive?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but thosse speakers are probably unrepairable. When magnets break off, they're done. You might call your favorite Markbass dealer and see about a pair of replacements.

Agreed. It is not the magnet that get damaged BTW, the voice coils (attached to the cone) that are supposed to ride in the motor get damaged. Sorry.

I apologise in advance for asking, but why drop it twice?

Once I can understand, we all drop things once...

As others have said, the magnet assembly has torn the voice coil with 99.99% probablity, and even if it hasn't, there's pieces of the magnet in the air gap making the sound horrible.

Replacing (or by-passing) 'em is the only option.

Regards
Sam

I was sick. One late night gig and it fell off the dolly. Still worked the next (early) morning church gig and it fell off the dolly on the way out.
