You can always use it later on to build a 15" cab for a new seperate head. Make sure it is not a LF version, because that would not sound that good on it's own IMHO.

The dustcap can be done from the front. Try running a fresh bead of glue around the edges...or carefully slice it out and replace it.
Ya, the kappalite is a great driver. Much too good, and expensive, to put in that little combo. |

Make sure it's the 3015 and not the 3015LF. |

And as Will and I have pointed out before: make shure they're not the LF versions because they have too much bass and too little upper mid to be usable as a fullrange speaker. And make shure they work!

You can hear a sub-harmonic with every note i play.it's like an octavator.it could be the head? I mean, it's a cheap piece of equipment that has alot of hiss an noise when moving the pots...
Maybe in some near future i would buy some combo head (like a ashdown EB or some hartke) and change this.
Anyone has some thoughts?

Anyone has some thoughts? | That's too bad, can't really think of something. Did you do usual stuff like cleaning all contacts and pots and stuff? Otherwise it sounds like an amp malfinction to me too.

It is the Celestion speaker. Quote:

I mean push on it with the amp turned off. It will be very quiet. See if there's any squeaking or scraping sounds. It looks like they just dented in the dustcap, which isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. If the dustcap is coming loose around the edges, that will make some nasty sounds when playing it. Those can be cut out and replaced pretty cheap. Might even be able to just glue that one back yourself.

Or gluing a piece of thread in the dent and pulling it out, then cutting the thread off. If you have a steady hand, you can carefully slice out the old one and glue in a new one.
Sounds to me like you have amp issues if a pot/jack/switch cleaning and checking all connections doesn't fix it. A dented dustcap won't cause the sound issues you describe. The old speaker may work with a good amp, assuming the dustcap is the only issue.
In any case, you got the best deal I've ever heard of on a 3015. Try a cleaning and see if it helps the amp. |

If you manage to get everything working, I'd put the old speaker back in the combo and put the 3015 in a proper cab and play it. That's a high end speaker. Either that or sell it for profit. |

if I can fix that other speaker,I will use the eminence properly in some cab.
