Speaker replacement/ use for drum machine

Sign in to disble this ad
So I have this 1987 KMD 1x12 amp my father gave me when I was younger and the speaker is blown. Not much information on these but seems to be an alright affordable ssamp built in England with a celestion g 12t-75 speaker. I want to use it for a drum machine. I am doing experimental music and was wondering?
1. is this amp worth replacing the speaker?
2. Should I look into some of the newer bass responsive speakers celestion is making?
3. any thoughts on this amp handling beats from a drum machine?
4. was wondering if A fifteen inch speaker would be better to suit the bass from a drum machine?

It's a guitar amp, the speaker you listed is a guitar speaker. Is it an openback cab? Guitar boxes are usually too small to convert to bass and get any lows. Edrums also need something fullrange with decent lows to get a good kick sound as well as decent sound from the cymbals/snare etc. More like a pa speaker with good lowend if not a sub/top system. If it's just for home listening/practice and not gigging it may be possible to load it with something like a 10 with a couple piezo's strung to it for fairly cheap but just talking at home practice here, nothing you'd want to gig or even rehearse with a band.
