Speaker suppliers: Are these two reliable? I've paid and so far no speakers delivered

Guys,

I've ordered and paid for a pair of Eminence Kappalite 3012s from Bronx Speakers.
I noticed in my PayPal receipt that the payment has gone to reconekits.com, so I guess they are affiliated. No problem there.

Its been over a week now, and I have no speakers (ok, they may not have arrived from the USA in a week), nor word on the status of my order, despite numerous emails to both no-one from either organisation has responded.

NB: Before you suggest calling them .....I'm holding off calling them because I'm in Australia and I want to avoid an expensive intenational call, if I can.

Has anyone else dealt with either of these companies?
Are they reliable?

Cheers,
Greg

No dealings with either of those companies.

However, when I had ordered my 3015's and 3012HO's from another e-bay dealer, it took over a week for them to get delivered in the States.

The seller i used (as is probably the same with most of them) were just the middle man. The speakers were drop shipped to me directly from Eminence. I guess you have to give time for payment to clear, then for them to place the order and pay Eminence before they ever get out the door.

A week isn't a long time when ordering from the US to Australia. Especially with a bulky item such as speakers. I have waited 3 or 4 weeks for small items sent via regular post. Also the airports having been closed recently due to the Chilean ash cloud has compounded matters. I wouldn't be worried... yet.

It's pretty poor form to not reply to you emails however.

That's my main gripe. Lack of communication.

USA to Aus? Gonna take more than a week.
Not to make anyone nervous but United States and Canada BBB Consumer and Business Reviews, Reports, Ratings, Complaints and Accredited Business Listings shows no record of them, but they might only show if a problem report was filed with the BBB.

It takes 2 weeks for me to recieve orders from the states to canada and were right next door so i wouldnt be too concerned. Sometimes things take a while to clear customs.

Two alarm bells here. First, the six month old price that you paid. I don't see a sharp operation selling drivers for less than what they paid for them. Second, US Eminence dealers are forbidden to sell to overseas customers. If this outfit had a clue they would not have taken your order to begin with. Neither of these facts gives me a warm feeling.

They are selling the 3012HO for $169 ! The cheapest I can find in a short search is $269 ! Can't be right.

Thomann.de (from Germany) is selling the 3015LF and the 3012LF at 166 Euro (about $237), shipping excluded.

That indicates that they too have failed to wake up and smell the coffee.

Domain bronxspeaker.com was registered last July. It's registered anonymously; not something I like to see in a business domain.

Home page says "prices listed are not final please call for prices". If their normal game is to call with the new price after ordering... perhaps that hasn't happened for the same reason you haven't called them. Suggest you learn what your refund options are through PayPal, and not let this go beyond the refund window.

i have no idea if they're reliable, but they do have a storefront (pictured on their website).

Having been burned by an online audio retailer in the past, I think this is kinda fishy. You should've at least gotten an email notification of your order.

I'm in Boston Massachusetts. If you want me to call them and inquire about your order on your behalf I would be happy to do so. PM me.

No, I got one of those emails, no problem there.

The thing that sort of gives me a little confidence in them is that the PayPal payment went to reconekits.com, who I think have been around a while.

PM sent adbass.

Initially they told me that the speakers were due in from Eminence yesterday, Friday and would be shipped straight to me.

Now I see that they have refunded the money i paid, claiming the 3012LFs are out of stock!

Oh well, looks like I have to keep looking!

Nope. At Thomann the 3012LF is going for 159 € (out of stock) and the 3015LF is going for 249 € (in stock). Excluding shipping.

Well it is now (255 Euro if you choose the italian flag), but last week when I checked the 3015LF and the 3012LF was at the same price.
I was going to buy one 3015LF at that price but I had an unexpected expense so I tought to buy it later...I waited too much !!

Roberto

Greg

There is a company that I bought my 3015LF (and 18sound fEARful mid) from here in the UK but looking at their website they only ship to the UK and Europe but you could contact them and see. They claim to have them in stock at about £136 + carriage depending where you look.

Their Ebay item number is 120746044033

There link to the 3015lf on their website is
Search Results : Lean Business, Oustanding Audio, Bass Guitar Speakers, Celestion Guitar Speakers, Guitar Amps, Tayden Guitar Speakers, Pro PA Speakers, Celstion spares, Celstion Vintage 30 and more!

(I have no affiliation with this company)

There was a mix up at their end with the mid, which was sorted out with no hassle. They dispatched it to the wrong address and had to reorder. No problems with communication, they were quick to respond to emails and returned phone calls as promised.

Edit - Senile dementia setting in. Ignore the above as they don't stock the 3012LF.

That's what happens with outfits that don't stock drivers but instead have them drop-shipped. As the old saying goes if it seems too good to be true, it is.
