Question Speaker Tone?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey I'm new to TB, but I would like to get some opinions on my gear. I recently bought an Ashdown Little Giant 1000W because I like the Ashdown tone. I am also playing though the Line6 Bass Pod XT Pro for tonality tweaking(mostly the Tube preamp and the Sub Dub settings) and use a Schecter Custom 5 Stilletto. I recently ordered a Schroeder 21015 and I am having it custom wired to fit the 2x500W @ 4 Ohm outputs of the LG. I have read a lot of reviews about Schroeder in general but havent seen much for my particular cabinet. To my understanding, his smaller cabs are voiced in the mids but lack the low end, but his larger cabinets are rumored to be more balanced. I'm worried that I am going to have a very uneven mid bump and get almost a honky tone through this setup. Has anyone used something like this, or have any suggestions? Would cutting the low mids out cause for a lack of power from this cab?

Thanks for your time.

A belated welcome to TB bassplayerken!

'Dunno about those particular cabs but a full & balanced bass tone which sits above the kick and below the guitars etc would be more useful in most rooms than a lot of very deep lows which would have to be filtered out to combat mix mud.
