Without reading through the whole thing.......I'd shop used and get a giggable setup now, go join a band and play music.

I can't imagine sitting around, with several opportunities to gig, and saying no to hold out for some "dream rig". Go get something that makes noise and play it. You can still save up for some fancy-schmansy and when you get there, flip this rig to help fund it or use it as backup.

You mention a custom bass and amp rig, so, do you have a bass now? If so, get some rig and play it. If not, how do you know what a "dream rig" is?

OK, reading through the thing, my advice isn't changing. The tone could be a little nicer though.

Yep, you're putting more thought into it than most people 21 put into anything other than getting drunk and/or laid. So for that.....great job.

I still say just get something together to get out and play. You'll gain valuble experience. You'll find that some groups aren't worth putting together a $4000 dollar rig to make $50 a night with, and others are great groups to play with. Your tastes will also change as you get older and what a "dream rig" is at 22 could easily be something entirely different than what it is at 42 or 62, so keep that in mind.

Save up for your dream rig, whatever that means, but while you're busy doing that, get something that works and get out and play.

Haha thanks, I appreciate it. I am getting passed wanting custom cabs as they are really pricey when I can get something for less than half that on the shelf. So I will look for we went used gear and a nice used head until I can save up for something better and louder.

What I'm trying to say is....get out and start building personal experience. You can't buy that stuff....it comes with time and time waits for no one. You have the rest of your life to put together some uber-awesome super-rig....that you can buy.

fishing in the used market you can easily find a killer rig for well under a grand. Look for 300-500 watts and something like a 4/6/8-10, 2-15, 2 or more 12s etc. Listen and learn what you like, enjoy the ride and save your $, the point is to get out there and play
