Stacking GK Neo Cabs

Sign in to disble this ad
I did a search and couldn't find anything so here is the thread.

Can you stack a GK Neo 410 on a GK Neo 212-II and not have it be unstable? The cabs are slightly different sizes. Really wish GK had thought about that when they were designing the cabs. People like to mix and match and don't always want to stack a 410 on a 115 or another 410.

Just looking to see if anyone has used this combination with any success.

Thanks.

That tells me that G-K did think about what counts when designing the cabs, which is how they sound, not how they look. A 4x10, 2x12 and 1x15 wouldn't be the same size if they're each designed to work as well as possible.
As to your question, they still might stack OK, someone who has both can tell you. Does G-K have a forum? That would be the place to ask if they do

I know what you mean as to the efficiencies of a cab as far as design goes. I understand that. I am no designer nor do I hardly have a technical grasp on cab design but the 212 is a 1/2 inch narrower than the 410 according to their website specs. Not sure if that 1/2 inch would have made a difference or not as to the cab efficiency but it sure would have made a difference for mixing and stacking cabs. I can see the depth being a huge deal. Side note - their 410 RBH and 115 RBH cabs have the same cabinet dimensions. Very nice for stacking.

GK's forum as been down for months now. Gave up on it really.

The current model Neo410 and Neo212 should stack just fine. I presume your Neo410 is a "Series I?"

I am buying it from a fellow TBer and it is 4 months old.

Thanks for all the quick responses.

Hmmm... I have seen Neo410-II and Neo212-II's stacked, and they seemed to go together just fine?

Tom.

I had a neo 410 and a neo 112-ii which I stacked. The 112 wasn't the same size so it only locked at the front end. Didn't seem to be a problem.

For some reason G-K no longer feels they need a forum for customer support or interaction. There's still a link for "Community" on their site, but it doesn't work.

I still have an old G-K forum link bookmarked in my browser...but that one has been taken over by porn and drug spam.

Makes me question G-K's commitment to customer support.

lol! tough crowd! does anyone really judge manufacturers' cs by whether they have a forum or not? i tend to judge it more by how quickly they respond if i have a problem. maybe i'm odd. maybe i'm old. maybe i'm both. but i fail to see the relevance of a forum when my phone still works fine.

1 - GK has great customer support. Give them a phone call and a real person answers and directs you to another real person. If you have a question about stacking cabs and such, you could give them a call.

2 - GK has changed the sizes and specs on their cabs over the years. As such, cabs from different generations don't always have the 4 black plastic locking corners matching up perfectly... but seriously... just put one cab on top of the other and call it a day. Having the 4 corners lock or not lock does not affect the sound in any way, and short of having someone take a flying leap at the cabs, they're not going to fall over.

Mr. Gallien:
I'm glad to hear that a new G-K forum will be up and running again. I've heard that before, but not from the top man, himself. Maybe this time it's true. I've also been told that the "old" forum would be restored. And that the currently accessable forum would be cleaned up.

Is having a forum important to customer relations?
Click this link and tell me what reflection it has on you and your company: http://www.gallien.com/community_board.html

I bookmarked the above link while it was the official G-K forum link, accessable from the "Community" link on your main site. Many of us complained both within the forum and via the "Report" button about the content. B-string and I each offered the services of relatives who are experienced webmasters/designers. Those offers were obviously declined. The only action taken was to disable the link from your main site, without shutting down the spam-filled forum.

Please understand that I am not flaming you or your company. My posts on this subject are intended to be helpful to your company.

Well it's done with anyways. A 410 and a 212 on the way. Surprised no one suggested duct tape to keep them stable.
