"Stacking" small combos

It may be a stupid idea, but here it goes anyway.

I just sold my practice/gigging rig to finance another purchase, which left me with no other opportunity, than going DI into our PA system for rehearsals. It is OK, but I miss the tone of a proper bass amp and speakers.
However, I still have two small combos, an Ampeg BA112 and a Marshall MB30. These are too weak to cover a drummer, but today I tried "stacking" them. I took the line out from the Ampeg and send it to the power amp in (return) of the Marshall. The sound surprised me, quite punchy and powerful, at least at relatively low volumes. The question is, what can I expect at practice volumes. Would the added power and speaker area be enough to achieve good volumes?

Lightbulb Err!

Might work in a small gig with a drummer playing with brushes
+ PA and monitors support but it aint gonna be no metal shredding monster in drop A.

No metal or drop tuning here, and the drummer is by far not the loudest I've played with. No gig either, I was thinking about rehearsals in 25 sq meters room. Has anyone done that?

JimmyM is right on. Gotta try it and see.
I see nothing wrong with multiple amps on stage. More tonal options.
You could also get an ABY box or splitter INSTR cable to then use both combo's preamp sections. Could be fun.
