| "Stacking" small combos

It may be a stupid idea, but here it goes anyway.
I just sold my practice/gigging rig to finance another purchase, which left me with no other opportunity, than going DI into our PA system for rehearsals. It is OK, but I miss the tone of a proper bass amp and speakers.
However, I still have two small combos, an Ampeg BA112 and a Marshall MB30. These are too weak to cover a drummer, but today I tried "stacking" them. I took the line out from the Ampeg and send it to the power amp in (return) of the Marshall. The sound surprised me, quite punchy and powerful, at least at relatively low volumes. The question is, what can I expect at practice volumes. Would the added power and speaker area be enough to achieve good volumes? |
