Standing 3 feet in front of a 1x15 and 1x18 stack playing Reggae

Here is my question: What am I hearing out of my rig at that close distance? - I can really feel the sound waves coming out of the stack. I'm loving it.

The top of 15" driver is about 5 feet high. We're playing gigs on a crowded stage right now and I'm usually standing about 3-4 feet in front of my rig. There's no problem for me nor am I complaining I'm just trying to get a technical explanation of what I'm feeling from the sound of the stack.

And a bigup to all my Reggae bass playing Brothers and Sisters out there!

Speakers make sound by moving air, that is what you are feeling

some 15 do produce a fair amount treble and high mid
and if you are right in front of the 15, you don't lose those high because of "beaming",
you would be right in the "beam"

I think OP scenario qualify as "right in front of"

however, I don't understand why or what the OP is asking
is there something that you think you shouldn't be hearing?
or is there something that you expect but can't hear?
