What is the best 2 channel high powered head? I need to dump my eden WT 1000.
Thanks, |

| | | | Bump, and I'll add some clarity. I need a powerful head that can run 2x4 ohm cabs. I would like it to have to have 2 channels, so they each pump the full 4 Ohms. Any recommendations?
Thanks, |

| | | | Hmm ok, I currently have an eden power/ pre setup with a 4 ohm cab. What about a head with 2x speaker outputs (not separate channels). What would happen if I ran 2x8 Ohm cabs? Would I get 4 Ohm power out of both?
Sorry, been racking my brain over this, and got a lot of different answers. |

Sorry, been racking my brain over this, and got a lot of different answers. | The cab would be seen at 4 ohms by the amp, and you would get 1/2 the 4 ohm power from the amp into each cabinet.
For instance, if it is 400 watts at 4 ohms, each cabinet would receive 200 watts.

you already have the pre... the poweramp is much lighter than your previous eden one... & it'll do +/-700watts a side at 4 ohms and can bridge into 4 ohms if you need more power (1500watts)
ps. 2 x 8ohm cabs = 4 ohms

| | | | Hi Son of Bovril,
I was considering going the Crown power amp route as well. Has anyone had success with a crown power amp? Do they typically have 2 channels?
I heard they often aren't 4 ohms?
Thanks, |

I haven't had any problems yet over the couple of months i've had mine. I use it with an eden nav, fender TBP-1 and an avalon U5
There are a couple of threads about the XLS range if you search, otherwise there are a few other very good & reliable PA power amp manufacturers that offer products that suit could what you are looking for...
