Who out there is running a stereo rig setup?

I do it all the time...
Have many amps and cab options.

One amp for the neck PU, minimal or zero efects.

One amp for the treble PU. If I use effects, the will be on this PU only. It still retains the bass freq's that way.( because of the Neck PU)

Sometimes I use a two channel head. it is mono of course, but I still have better control of each PU.

If I use two amps, I stack the cabs with the Neck PU in the bottom cab. I never seperate the cabs.

for me stereo is the way I like it.

So wait, you know your rig is really mono, but you still call it (and yourself) "stereo"?

To the OP, do you mean actually stereo, as in having left and right speakers, where the difference between them creates a spatial effect? Or do you mean any other sort of two-channel rig where the speakers for the two channels occupy just one location?

Well sorta! Actually a clean dirty all tube rig for downtune dirty naughtiness with good definition for recording purposes here.

Ric 4003 through custom Koshi stereo single to twin male cable - Ashdown ABM600 to twin ABM410 cab's for treble pick up. Neck pickup to Ampeg SVT II to twin SVT810 cabs.

Stereo is really not a good term. RIC-O-Sound.

But, Carvin, Alembic, Gibson all use the term, stereo.

I do not use the set up for a stereo effect. For me it is control over each PU's tone.

Even when I use a two channel head(mono), I have control over each PU.

With a mono bass or guitar, when both PU's are selected, it is a summed sound, sorta like one giant PU. Control.

Stereo, RIC-o-sound is not for everybody.

Two jacks? No, a stereo 1/4" jack with a stereo cable that I make.

Overall, the TB members don't like the "stereo" set up.

Isee what you are saying. To me, the RicOsound setup is really mono unless you have a left and right amp.setup.

I have two GK 700RB II's powering two Mesa PH212's. My Fender Jazz Basses and Rickenbackers are wired for stereo. Each pickup goes to a seperate amp/cab for the ultimate in tone control. If I want to record, the bridge p/u goes to the left channel, panned slightly to the right and the neck p/u goes to the right channel panned slightly to the left channel. It sounds incredible in headphones and is like two bass tracks at once. The amp rig has the neck pickup cab on the bottom and the bridge pickup cab on top of that.
This, if recorded, is a true stereo rig. And live, I have independent tone control over each pickup. I run effects through the bridge p/u.

Seriously, I always run a stereo cable from my 4001, it's rare these days I have two rigs and normally just a two channel amp.

Well, it's more like bi-amping. But it is stereo. Of course, you could separate the speakers, but I wouldn't.

Mono is one amp and speaker/s. but, when a stereo rig is stacked, the sound is coming from the same area.
