A Sticky For All Questions Regarding EQ And Tone Shaping Request

I think this would be a great idea for anyone who can not dial in the perfect tone out of their amp. There are constantly people who simply cannot "use" their amp to it's full advantage.

Those Ten Band Eq's especially, how can one know exaclty how it functions. Compression, Tweeters on the cabinets, Pre amp controls, tubes and which ones are good for the amp or tone you are looking for.

Do any of you agree with this? I do understand it is a long shot, but it can also do more good then bad and help people of all experience levels.

Would anyone contribute to this?

Ideas?

If this was mentioned before, Mod's please delete.

Thanks

I think it would be a great idea. I know when I first got back into playing I had my tone pretty scooped because it sounded good when playing alone. However, I was never happy with my tone in a band setting. I see lot of these "what _________ is best for \m/etal?" kids always ask how to cut through and whatnot. Something simple as "start you EQ flat and play in a band setting while you tweak and play" would be a world of help for the vast majority of people asking these questions. The answer always seems to be the same.

There is nothing about this...

It is constantly being asked by people all over the web as well, ( not just on TB )
