Stock or Custom?

Okay,
So I am looking to buy a combo that will cover the majority of my indoor gigs:

GK MB210 - 350W @ 8Ohms, 500W w/ext cab at 4Ohms

SAID EXT. CAB

But I am considering having a 3-way (12/6/horn) with 1 rack space for my MB2-500 head and a sub cab (12) built for me by LDS.

My question here is if GK (Who I have always found to be reliable and have years of experience on a mass level) already does it, is there any reason for me to have it done by a small builder like LDS?

Thanks....

So you already have the MB2-500 head? Isn't the LDS 12/6 designed to handle more power? Is that an issue for you?

On a side note, I have an LDS 15/6 with a 2-space rack built on top and removeable casters. I have my Crown XLS 1500 in the rack space, and my band mates always comment on how light it is.

Yea, I have the head, so the stock route, I'd have to sell the head. Not a really big deal, I suppose.
I've spoken to Don already so all seems fine. The MB2-500 handles 350W at 8Ohms and 500 @ 4Ohms.

The GK cabs are light as hell - about 30lbs each.

If you spec a long x-max driver the LDS will far outperform the GK for low end ext and power handling. Don has a lot of experience and is very helpful in making decisions wrt spec IME. I also would not jump to upgrade to a more powerful head-your GK would sound glorious and althoug my LDS 15-6 can take 500 watts at 8 Ohms, 300 fills a medium sized venue even without PA (loud rock band). Good luck.

Thanks, lomo - Well, I wouldn't really be "jumping to upgrade" with the stock GK - it's the same power rating - theoretically.
