strange clicking noise

so at the practice space we have a 2 channel 600 watt carvin something. im not sure what the exact model of amp is anyway on the high channel it makes a strange clicking noise whenever you touch the strings even with the master volume off. any ideas as to whats causing the problem?

First guess would be a ground problem in your bass or the amp. Try a different bass. Does the amp have a ground lift button/switch? Try it in the different setting.

I originally thought it was my bass so i brought a different one to the next practice and it did the same thing. We tried the band leaders bass, it also did the same clicky noise. We will mess with the ground lift at the next practice. Were we driving it too hard or what? It can handle 2 ohms on each channel which is crazy if you ask me.
