Stuck between two budget combos

I'm looking to buy a cheap combo capable of holding its own on small gigs and bigger gigs with PA support. I've narrowed it down to the Fender Rumble 350 2x10 and the GK MB115 1x15. I've seen a few posts around here complaining about the GK's amp getting fried after a few months and bad vibrations in the sound, has anyone heard about GK solving these issues? Either way, for those that have used both, which did you prefer in terms of volume, tone, reliability, ease of movement, and overall use? Thanks much to those who can help.

There's two things that matter with amps. Speaker surface area and power. Once you have the figures nailed, go to your local and plug your bass in.

Get a list of what you want to try out, then cross them off once you've tried them.

I would highly recommend getting a head and cab combination. And maybe look at used stuff too.

You're likely to get feedback from folks who like your choices and from those that don't. Then you'll get a rash of other suggestions and you will wind up more confused than when you started.

There are so many great choices out there; Electricblue's suggestion of trying out as much as you can makes sense. I'm a fan of researching through TB for the equipment you're interested in, I find that more useful than a flood of well-meaning but confusing recommendations. Just MHO.

I owned the mb115 and it fried after about 4 months. This was a huge dissapointment. Their tech support was a pain. The blown amp is behind me in my computer room. I have a Fender Rumble that will soon be gone. The Rumble is loud, yet it gets lost in the mix. It will not cut good with my Jazz bass. So it is gone. I would look into other amps. Thats my opinion.
