stupid question...loss of volume

I've never blown a bottom...I have one amp, used it last week...volume cut down to zero in my svt 4x10...brought it in, in the meantime bought a ampeg pf350 (awesome) thought problem was solved played out last night, same problem...same bottom. so it's the bottom, right?

symptoms...loud and punchy for about 20 or so minutes then starts to fizz out, have to turn off amp for a couple seconds, then is loud again then out again

blown speakers? guts in bottom?

any words of wisdom?

Something is causing a short circuit. It could even be the cord, especially if it's an instrument cord and/or uses 1/4" connections.

Never heard of blown speakers going silent and then coming back? Must be your cord or a wiring fault in the cab.

Try a new speaker cord first. I was having volume problems and found out it was a bad instrument cord, so a cord going bad is not an uncommon thing.
