yes, i am going to pull the trigger on either a GK1001rbii since i just fell in love with the tone...tried it at GC, didn't quite catch or forgot which cab it was hooked to...ugh! it was a GK cab though...
so, what would be a good cab for this head? i know the cab i played through was a 410...what cab is a good pair for this head? what goes hand in hand with it...looking for GK cab, but open to others...
and geez, i do plan on maybe an MB800 when it hits!!! would this same cab also rock with the MB800 series as well as 1001rbii?
yes, i fell in love with the GK sound!!!!! |

I ended up buying the RBH, but I wish I bought the Neo because of the weight difference! Thankfully I'm not gigging much anymore so it stays put in the apartment
Anyway, the 1001rbII sounds great with either the 410 RBH or the 410 Neo.

If you like punchy tone with good definition this is the way to go. But if you pair it with a 4x10 and a 1x15 you can take full advantage of the bi amp capabilities of the head. |

(Horn Management System). The H.M.S. is only for the horns in artist series G-K cabs.

regardless, i know the GK 1001RBII is my kinda amp!!!! just need the cab for me to have my sound down... |

I've been using the GS series with my GK stuff for a good while now and never had any complaints. Currently using GS112's, but I've also used a GS410 and a GS115 with it. All of them sound great.
With that said, whenever I do get around to getting a big cab again, it's going to be a Bergantino NV610.

I keep toying with the idea of selling my NV610 but everything I plug into it sounds great. Only caveat is that it doesn't have a tweeter so if you like a lot of sizzle-y top end it might not work for you.

As far as RBH cabs... they're serious! I recently had a chance to compare them with Neos, in depth, and to me (subjectively, of course) the RBH cabs had a bit more soul, grit, heft... whatever you want to call it. I use my GK 1001RB II with a 210RBH cab for small gigs, and add a second 210RBH when necessary. |

I paired it with a GK 115MBX cabinet, and it sounds terrific. I hadn't played a 15 in ten years or more, and it really sounds good.
On a side note, I was not on TB for a couple of months, and totally missed the whole fEARful revolution (which were cabinets mentioned here), and honestly have no idea what they are all about, and the thread on it is just too long and exhaustive to read. |
