Now that I have "lightened the load"-in and picked up a Shuttle 6.0 to run as my amp on stage, I'm also looking for ONE cab (fighting the temptation to run 2), 4 ohms so as to get the most out of the Shuttle, something under 35-40lbs, that will be able to reproduce all of the tones I am looking for. Isn't light on low end or is all mids. A very well rounded cab. We play decent sized rooms and I do push more than a little volume on stage.
Since I am coming from the world of "the bigger cabs, the better", I am hoping for some suggestions from those of you who use and own these smaller, carry with one hand cabs.
Thanks in advance!

Get an 8 ohm cab. The Shuttle 6 puts out 375 watts at 8 ohms. So you are covered there. Plus, if/when you add a second cab, you can easily do so.
Take a look at the Bergantino 112's and the new aguilar SL112.

Thanks in advance! | For the sound you like I would say 2 2x10 cabs will get it done for you. I know you want to do one cab, but you can get 2 2x10 cabs each will be under 50 lbs and together you have the sound of a 4x10 cab. Make them both 8 ohms and you have a 4 ohm load total. I just don't think a 1x12, a 1x15, or a 2x10 by themselves will give you the balls you are looking for. |

In fact I find it easier to haul than my AE112 (which is 31lbs but has a top strap style handle). Both sound different, and a pair of either (or that combination) can push a lot of air.
In a 4ohm, the Thunderchild gets rave reviews. |

My regular gig rig consists of a TFB750A and two GS112's. I can get serious volume and a great tone.
My practice/backup rig is a TFB550B and a Berg HT112. The Berg has a beautiful tone and can push some serious air as well.
I have gigged with a single 12 before and had no problem. It all depends on what you are competing with. Currently the band I am in is rather loud hence the two GS112's. I could probably get by with one (I have PA support) but I'm not pushing my rig at all.
Let me add that the Aguilar (at least the GS's that I have) and the Berg are very different, but I really like both of them. The Aguilar's have been very roadworthy! Very well built.
One of the main things I like about the 112 cabs is the ease of load-in/load-out and transport. I can get everything in the back seat of my truck, which includes two cabs, two guitars, two Thunderfunk heads, a gear backpack and two guitar stands.

| | | When I had an Avatar SB112 neo, I felt it was a great one handed cab. It was exact same size as my B210 delta, but was a good 20 lbs lighter. Stupid ceramic speakers Isn't your shuttle 600 watts? are you sure you want to pump that much into a small 4 ohm cab? I too think you should get a pair of 8 ohm cabs or risk blowing any smaller one hand cab. |

It's been a while since you've seen me play, my friend! I don't even think you've seen the current band? It's been 4 years for us now...Anyway...my sound has changed considerably...excellent PA support and not as much volume from off the stage as before. And I'm (aren't we all) getting older and getting those 4x10 and 8x10 cabs in and out aren't as easy anymore. I used a 2x10 I had laying around this weekend and it sounded awesome. Heavy, but awesome.

I find that any single-speaker cab, no matter the size of the driver, does not sound "full". A pair of 10's sound better than a single 12. A pair of 12's sound better than a pair of 10's...

I am going to try a Genz Benz NeoX 112 and see how that works for me. If I need a little more beef (which I doubt), I have a 115 I can add to the mix.
Thanks everyone for your opinions and thoughts! I'll let you know how it works out.
