 Suggestions for an upgrade...

Hey all, I'm a College musician and i'm starting to gig more seriously. I play both upright bass and bass guitar i currently play through a Carvin BR615 Combo Amp (looking for something with a better quality sound and easier to work with). I'm looking to upgrade to a nicer rig and was hoping some of you guys out there would have suggestions for a next step. I'd like to upgrade to something with tubes but i'm open to solid state suggestions. The majority of playing i do is Rock, Jazz and Bluegrass and in small-medium sized venues. I might also note that its important that the amp be functional for both upright and electric bass.
