Suggestions for a very small (10") stage monitor?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all - I'm looking for a very small (preferably single-10") monitor for use onstage as a supplement to my larger rig. I'm getting plenty of volume from my main rig (usually a MarkBass LittleMark II into at Bag End S-15D) and I love my tone, but have trouble getting that last bit of clarity that I'm looking for. Stage setups rarely allow me to place my main cab in a spot which sounds great both out front and to my ears onstage.

My plan is to place the new small speaker at my feet, or possibly off to the side as a sort of "clarity" supplement. I'll run the second speaker daisy-chained from my main speaker, so I need something in the 250-watt, 8-ohm range. Good low end is nice, but not totally a priority because this is just a monitor. Small size and light weight are the deciding factors. Suggestions?

Thanks!
Arcellus

That's right up my alley - except for one thing I forgot to mention: I want a wedge, or at least a kick-back shaped cab. Part of the problem is that the backs of my legs are getting a great sound, but not my ears. Thanks for the reply!

The STL-10T has a bottom-mounted built in kick stand that might serve your purposes.

Interesting - they don't mention that on the Genz-Benz site. I'll have to check it out.

Sure man! It's pretty much identical to what you described. 250w RMS, 10", very light.

I auditioned them in San Diego a couple of months ago. Great little/big sounding monitors and at 150.00, tough to beat.

well - that's one's 12", but it's light enough to fit the bill. do you see a 10" on their site somewhere?

I fixed the link when I realized you said 10" and not 12".

Try it now.

even better - thanks, I just may have to give that one a shot. it's in the same price range as some lesser brands, and I tend to trust Carvin a bit more than others.
