Suggestions to warm up an LMII sound a bit?

Sign in to disble this ad
I would like to add a little warmth to my LMII and add the same warmth to recordings. Any suggestions on rack units or pedals? I play in an alt-country group with a fender classic 50's pbass. Budget around $200

For recordings? Use a quality DI and let it go. Countryman would be a good one. If you're paying a studio they should have a crazy nice tube preamp or something for you. I see no reason to use an LM2 for recording that I can think of since there's so little tonal coloration.

There are a lot of good options out there. There's an EBS ValveDrive in the TB classifieds right now, that you should snap up. If you miss that one, or if you want something new, then check out http://www.davehallampsusa.com/

It can be set anywhere between "mic level" for normal recording purposes, to line level for either tracking directly, or driving a power amp.
