Suitable cab/s for Hartke LH500??

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm set on getting the LH500 but I'm in a pickle when choosing appropriate cab/s. Is it possible to have such a powerful head paired up with a 210 +115 set up? My budget allows me to get the ashdown or hartke cabs but neither of their 210 + 115 set up allow for a total 500 watts. How much of a risk is it if i paired the LH500 with say an Ashdown MAG 210 + 115 or should i be looking for a 410 cab?

Cheers from Australia!!

How loud do you need to be?

In general, it is best to have two cabs with the same layout. I suggest 2 210 8 ohm cabs to go with your LH500, for maximum flexibility. Bring one to rehearsal or low volume gigs, both when you need to stretch out.

If you consistently need to be loud , you can get a 4 or 8 ohm 410 cab and be done with it.

I had a LH500, and had really good luck with two Bag End S15 cabs, two Aguilar DB112 cabs, and an Acme B2 cab. It goes well with pretty much anything.

How loud i wanna be? Enough for small to medium sized gigs. I know the LH500 is more than plenty for my needs. The 2 x 210 cabs sounds very efficient but would i be missing out on anything tone wise if i went without the 115 as opposed to 2 x 210's? I want quality tones aswell as something that can be 'felt' by an audience if you know what i mean. Even though the 410 is the most efficient solution i cant say my back will last much longer

I used a 2x10 + a 1x15, with my LH500. The 15 was too bulky to move around, so I went to two 2x10's .. great sofar. You can use the 2x10 alone or the 1x15 running 250 watts, both cabs together the amp will put out 500 watts Click on my avatar.

I'm running the LH500 with the Hydrive410 and I gotta say...Its killer! Power when you need it, and full, dark low tone when you don't. I'm in love with this rig. Best combination I've played through. Glad I didn't listen to the nay say'ers who couldn't buy into the paper, and aluminum speakers. I love the versatility.

I've used mine with just about every modular setup there is and alone driving a big 8x10, it just keeps going.
