ZOMG! Please review! I'm currently debating whether to get a 2000s or 1200s unit, as I recently played a lower powered Sunn with Trem and Verb, and it kicked A$$, and am wondering how the big brother sounds with bass.

The big brother sounds just as good.

How do the 2000s and 1200s compare? Is there really any difference in sound besides boosted bass or boosted mids?

There are a few of versions of the 1200S. I've never seen one, or even seen a schematic but the 1968 model 1200S has the same control layout as the 2000S, and although as I said I've not seen it in person, from what I know about original Sunns I'd bet $5 that the tone stack on the '68 1200S is identical to the 2000S, just without the bass boost.
And... I'm not a gambling man.
The later model 1200S ('69 tube rectified rated @ 120 watts, '70 SS rectified rated @ 150 watts) with reverb and tremolo varies from the "meat and potatoes" 2000S circuit (I do have those 1200S schematics), just adding those options into the circuit alone will undoubtedly cause it to be a little different.

I have on occasion gigged my 4003 stereo with the neck PU going to a 200S rig and the bridge going to a Sceptre, and it sounds pretty awesome. I even dial in a little reverb to the Sceptre.
Kind of a "one trick pony" rig and a whole lot of heavy gear to move to get it, so I only do it when the "right" occasion arises.

I'm curious about Dave-Action-Fig's new amp. From the pic it looks like all the guitar oriented "bells and whistles" have been removed, I wonder if it has been modified into a 2000S configuration.
I'd love to see a high res chassis shot...

I don't know a lot about this amp, I didn't do any good research, because I found it on the internet and tried it 2 days later and immediatly brought it home.

But it normally is a guitar amp. It has a mid-boost function. The guy who previously owned it said the other knobs where just some options he never used (he didn't know what it actually was) and he replaced it with some kind of screws to adjust the amp.

I don't know anything about the 2000s. But this amp sounds AWESOME. The overtones are amazing. It's a very big/wide tone, so maybe not the right amp if you need to leave a lot of space (Freq-wise). When you cranck it up it becomes very aggresive. It's not only the head by the way. I bought it together with an old Kustom 4x12 (different speakers though) and they work perfectly together. It sounds awesome when everything is on '0' (I think that's flat on this amp) and then add a bit of bass (round '2' or '3') Still have to do my first studio session with it (this saturday) and I am very excited. I will see if I can put the song up on the net.

I am thinking about getting a master volume build in. Will this do anything to my sound?

Just wanting to bump this up again, as I'm now looking at a 1200s, but it looks slightly different control layout (It is dated as 4-1970). Dave-Action-Fig, yours has slots for two switches, and I know that the 1200s came in a few different layouts, so I'm wondering what those two switches are labeled as. The one I'm looking at has only one switch, labeled MidBoost. Btw, is your tube rectified or SS?
