Sunn 300T came in today!

Sign in to disble this ad
well today was the day. my new Sunn 300T finally came in the mail! after reinstalling all the tubes, I gave it a new 3 hour workout at band practice. all I have to say is, ITS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! the difference was night a day compared to my backline 600. the tone is ridiculous and it was everything I was looking for in a new head. I was going to buy a new cab, but after hearing this thing sing it isn't even needed..... for now

and thanks to everyone who took the time to help me figure out exactly what I wanted and which amps would best suit me. nothin better then the TB community in my book

That's sweet! And yeah, comparing it to a Backline would be like driving a Porsche after you've driven a Chevy Cavalier.

Why'd you change out the tubes right away?

Congrats, kinda looks like you could flop that cab on its side so the amp wouldn't overhang it...

he didn't. he reinstalled them after shipping. sounds like the shipper sent the tubes separately.

ding ding ding. jimmyM is correct. tubes were shipped inside the amp with more bubble wrap than I knew what to do with.

never thought of that, but the top two cones are angled upward so the sound projection might be weird. (know nothing of amp and sound physics)

Hahahahaha! I am glad you are digging it. I told you those suckers at FedEx packed the heck out of it, plus I used two large rolls of bubble wrap for the tubes and stuffing the guts prior to that!

Nice 300T,you will never look back.

I have had the 1200s version for at least 8 reliable years now.I see no reason to ever want to use anything else yet.

That's a huge jump in amp...GK BL600 to a Sunn 300T? Sweet decision.

I figured it was time I got an upgrade since I'm finally taking my playing a lot more seriously. I'm loving every minute of it

Yes and no,2 x 12AX7 tubes in the pre,the same pre amp section as the 300T but the 1200s has solid state power section as opposed to the 300Ts massive tubes.
Mine is rated at 1200watts @ 2ohms.
