Sunn Alpha Slave and 200S?

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently picked up a 200S. Sounds great, but not very loud.

I saw a shop that has an Alpha Slave. Could I use it with the 200S, and if I did, would it be loud enough and still sound like the 200S? What would the AS be worth? Thanks!

Do you have an additional cab?

If not, then I don't think you'd be able to run them together. The 200s is a tube amp, and so requires a speaker load to operate.

If you do have an additional cab, then it might be possible.

But I'm not sure how much it the alpha slave's output would sound like a 200s, as IIRC, they're very different designs.

I do have an additional cab, but I'd hate to carry a 4x10 around along with my giant, heavy, obnoxious 4x12.

I wonder what amps the Alpha Slave was intended to work with. I assume the Alpha series.

If you want to use the 200S and a slave amp, you need two cabs. And yes, presumably it was intended to go with the alpha series.
