I'm the kind of person who loves Sunn amps objectively but I could probably never actually use one because of issues like that. As awesome as Sunn is, it's probably not in your best interest to try to "fix" a head's sound, rather than just buy a head that has the sound you already want.

true, i love the tone they get though. nothing else has a distortion channel that raw sounding.

Always felt the Comcert Bass was a bit under powered. In fact, I found mine to be much nicer sounding cranking it and plaing guitar through it. Never felt it cut so much on bass. Maybe I'll go back and plug it in again one of these days.

I played one of those back in the 70's. I ran an MXR six band eq pedal in front of it and I boosted the lows and low mids via the eq pedal. It worked perfectly! The 10-band version would be even better!

Sacto, that's exactly what I did when I ran mine in the '70s. That little blue box was sorta hissy, but it got the job done. I'd wager the noise specs of stomp box eqs has improved over the years.

In the 70's I used a concert bass and had the same issues. An MXR 12 band eq fixed the problem....looped in the send/ return.
