Help a Noob out!! I took the speaker out of my Sunn Beta 105 because it sounded blown and I can't remember which connector goes where. One wire is black, the other is white. The back of the speaker has a little purple sticker under one of the connectors. HELP!!

Here's the fix!

White to the Purple Dot, Black to the other terminal.

Here's a tip for future reference. Take color Sharpies or Magic Markers and color code your ends. Then there's no question of what goes where. If those aren't available, put a piece of tape and number corresponding connections. Do this with any connecting things - just yesterday I replaced the inside door handle on my Suburban and marked the power window wires the same way. Hours later, no problem knowing what went where.

Understandable. How was the speaker?

Couldn't find anything physically wrong with it...Don't know why it's been sounding bad. I use the Sunn head on my Ampeg V4b 2x15 cab normally and sounds fine there. I used the 105 cab last monday for a small gig and it sounded like poo. At first I thought my batteries were dead in my bass but I got home and tested it on another amp and it sounded fine. That's when I took apart my cab to inspect the speaker. I pushed on the speaker very gently and listened for rubbing and heard nothing. That's when I took it out for a closer inspection but still couldn't find anything wrong with it. I may just replace it anyway with something that can handle more watts(Beta 105 is rated at 100 watts at 4 ohms). I'm looking at the Eminence Kappa 15C or a Legend CA154.
