Uhmmm... try subtracting a $700 or so from that price.

That is a Sunn CONCERT, and 200w or so TRANSISTOR amplifier.

Now, a 2000's... that'd be a good deal!

+1

Haha a friend of mine sold a 2000s to help fund his wedding.

I hate hate HATEEEE how Sunns have blown up so ridiculously disproportionate to what they put out.

I wouldn't spend more than MAYYYYBE $200 on the head, and about the same on the cab. My Sunn colliseum bass cost me $125 in 2001, and just last year i was offered that same Sunn 2x15 for $150.

$1000 for that is straight up stupid.

Shoot, i had a friend get a Sunn 2000s and 2 4x12s for just $1100 last year.

Ha, I totally over looked it. "My bad", as we say in the hood.

Absurdly inflated price. Everything Din of Win has to say is salient.

Yeah, yikes on the price, pretty inflated. I loved playing Sunn amps for a while because they sounded pretty good and were dirt cheap. So I didn't feel so bad when they blew up. I've still got a fried Concert Bass somewhere in my warehouse.

come on guys, maybe you didn't read correctly. this is for the amp, AND the head. and because its a concert bass it only works for CONCERTS. so if all you have lined up are shows, gigs, rehearsals, or recording sessions, this thing is WAY out of your league.

If that-- I think it's more like 150w.

I have one... a good gnarly sound, but it runs out of gas after "4" on the volume control.

Silly, silly price.

Yeah, that's stupid expensive. I would be reluctant to buy even a 2000s at that price, unless it was mega clean. But for that? No way.

It's a wonder how I ever dared to dime out a Coliseum in my practice space without killing everyone the room

I think I got $150 or $175 for my Sunn Concert and felt pretty good about that. It would make a good practice amp for home or a coffee shop amp but for a little more you could pick up a used Genz Shuttle 3 or Neo which would be much better.

Inflated, just from what I have bought new. I did have a Sunn Colesium ( 1971 ? ) maybe it cost $500 new. The thing is , it sounds like bait to me. For $1000, you can do a whole lot better. Guess he wants to keep it....................

If FMIC only knew the goldmine they'd have if they had a faithful reproduction with increased dependability of the original Sunn Models.

Don't believe it? See: Acoustic 360/1 thread.
