Superfly as PA Poweramp

Sign in to disble this ad
Just trying to think of ways to use this thing more. I've a couple of Woodson PA cab that I could reload with better drivers and power with the Superfly. This would help our lame, mismatched PA. And make me feel better about the Superfly. Any one see a downside?

Aside from only 250 watts per side into 4 ohms, nothing really as a very small power amp.

We're now we are using 2 100 watt powered speakers and a Yamaha mixer. Since this is a hobby/hope band we pretty dedicated in not tying up our money in joint purchases. In 5 years, we've spend $60 on a used drum machine. This will give a way to remove a few of my 'Ugly black boxes' from my wife's sight and justify a another possibly stupid impulse purchase.

Superflys have high frequency clock noise issues. Used for bass not a real problem, but for PA no way Jose.

Ah. Is that the little whine I hear if I listen closely? I had just chalked that up to dirty power. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

... and still may make silly purchase.

Run it through a high sensitivity HF horn and you won't have to listen closely, it will be painfully obvious.
