Here's a two parter open for discussion.
(A) What amps and cabs do you see the most when watching a major act?
(B) What would be in your rider if tapped to do a national tour, playing venues ranging from 800 to arenas? (You have a road crew for setup, so no need to worry about weight!)
My Take:
(A)
On TV and live, I see mostly SVT (tube, classic style) with 810. Occasionally I'll see G-K, SWR, and Aguilar, but very rarely see any of the boutique brands that are touted here.
In the eighties and nineties, I did a number of large concerts with some name acts, and usually was furnished either the SVT or an 800RB with a variety of cabs.
(B)
These days, it would depend on the style of music and whether it's rental or not.
For rock, I'd probably request the SVT rig, especially if it was a rental situation (don't all backline suppliers have 'em?).
For funk, blues, or pop type gigs, I'd go with G-K Fusion 550 (1050 out yet?), 1001,700, or 800RB. Paired with a couple of Goliath IIIs or IVs.
I was turned on to Goliaths when asked to play the soundcheck with Little Feat (Kenny was absent) at the House Of Blues. He used a pair set up side by side on wheeled flight case bottoms. Sounded great with his Kubicki Ex-Factor
Now if it were a major act that carried all it's own gear, I might explore some custom speaker options, possibly multiple fifteens or twelves based on a fEarful type design.
I know there are many brands that I have had little to no exposure to simply because once I discovered G-K heads in '87, I realized they satisfy all my needs. Likewise with speakers. After using cabs loaded with 15" JBL or EVs for years, I discovered the Goliath III which I really like.
