Anyone know what the mod is or has a link that explains the mod?

The voltage of the output signal is on the low side, causing problems when you connect up to a power amp whose sensitivity (basically, the measure of how strong a preamp signal it needs) is also on the low side. I had this problem using an SVP-CL-->old series QSC PLX 2402. There is a preamp mod that boosts the ouput and solves the problem. I found an acceptable workaround by putting an Alembic SF-2 (which boosts gain) between the pre and power amp. Never had a problem, provided I was boosting the overall signal.

HI
Not sure what you exactly mean, but if its that lo output issue: try 12DW7 in place of the last tube (12AX7). Cant't remember did I change the cathode resistor, or other parts. But any how, the DW will help you to get more juice to low impedance inputs (like some power amps). If the last tube (cathode follower) is 12AX7, it seems not to deliver juice enough.

Gerold had referred me to a company that will do this mod for approx $200.
It's a component change out of something like 7 resistors.
The other fix is to use a power amp with a .775V input sensitivity like a Crest or many Peavey's.
I used a dbx compressor to boost output in the past to drive an amp with a 1.5V sensitivity rating.
