In all honesty, neither. Look at GK, Eden and EBS.

I was just wondering.

Sorry for asking.

It's a simple question.

For those of you who have experience with both, I just want to know because the Ampeg IS an Ampeg after all, but I've heard of reliability issues with the Ampeg and the Peavey is $200 cheaper.

That's the problem: "Topic" is not a question. You want sensible answers, ask something. Even better, ask something sensible.

If you found a cheap VB-3 you do not want it. They are very bad amps. Send me the URL and I will make sure the sale is taken down off the internet, mach schnell.

Look at GK, Eden, EBS instead. Yeah, right - that's the ticket. Or that SVT. But first, send me that VB-3 link and I'll see to it that it's removed. It's the least I can do as a concerned netizen.

Jeez everyone.....

The O.P. is asking about these tube amps. Let's respect that this is an "okay" question". BIG difference beween these and tube pre amp section. Let's cut some slack.

My opinion is that I have no experience with either but I am interested in hearing from the Peavey camp..

Cool question.

Marc

Yeah, well there are so many plonkers around. Someone has to provide some good advice.

I liked the Peavey VB2, and I have their solid state head, the Tour 700. Standard 5 year warranty.. Can't go wrong. I haven't had the chance to play the VB3, but a store that's local to me has one, and the guy says that these things are monsters. Give one a try and make your decision?

VB2 is a GREAT amp... I would imagine the VB3 is just as good... I had the SVT-IIPRO and I liked the VB2 MUCH better.

I too have the VB-2, and I also have a 1997 SVT II Pro and the Peavey, IMHO is a more versatile amp, tone wise

Never seen a VB 2,3, or any other number. Owned a 2-Pro. Thus I vote for the one I know I like, over the one I have no first hand knowledge of. No reliability issues while I had it.

I have no experience with either. If I had to choose though I'd go with the VB3 purely because of the difference in weight.

Geez I hope Hartley Peavey can't figure out where you live....

What's wrong with the Peavey? Most Peaveys are very reliable and others are posting to say this one has good tone.

Thought there was a serious edge beneath it. My bad if I got that wrong.
