SVT 3 Pro fan question

Sign in to disble this ad
When I power up my SVT 3 Pro, the fan blows
kinda fast. It quickly settles down to a lower
speed and sounds more normal. Are
they all like that? I'm new to this model, so I just
wanted to check. Great amp in general, love
that Ampeg grunt!!

Any input appreciated, thanks!

I had to put a strip of black tape on top of fan to sillence the
noise. Vibration on lid. Never noticed a speed problem tho.

Mine was always loud...it got drowned out as soon as I started playing, but it would be a bear in a studio.

That's exactly how the fan has acted on my 3PRO since the first time I powered it up. I believe this is normal operation. And I know mine has not been tweaked to act this way because I bought mine new. I've had it for 6 years, and never has a problem with the fan (or any other issues with the amp). The fan has never stayed on high speed.

It's normal with mine too. Speeds up and gets loud just after turning on and off.
