SVT 6 rear rack ears?

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently purchased a SVT 6 Pro. When It arrived I noticed it had some tabs on the back of the head. I didnt think much of them until I put the head in my rack.
THen it occured to me that they were for supporting the amp from behind as well.

So upon confirming this is the manual I ask, does anyone know where I get the rear rack ears from?
Ampeg has a 1800 line but I thought before I went through that potential headache Id run the question here first.

Who knows perhaps I can help someone else with the same question.

So, anyone know where I can get some or have a pair they want to part with?

They aren't really needed; my church has had the identical amp for a few years now and the rear sticks out of the back of our carpeted rack. We have taken a number of road trips with it like that without any issues. If they are that difficult to obtain then there isn't much of a market or need for them. If there was a need, Ampeg should have just included them with the amp.

Mot of the amps have a 1/4-20 welded-on nut for support, but with the ears, it's probably not there.

But, the usual way is to get some "plumber's tape", which is perforated metal strap sold in coils (in the US).

Put a bolt through a hole in the ear, and a hole in the tape, and fasten the tape to the cab solidly so it gives support.....

Or you can get fancy...... your choice. Maybe you don't need it. Depends on how rough folks are with the rack (refer to the "split 810" thread)
