SVT-7 Pro FX Loop

please share with me how you use your fx loop / power amp in.

do you plug into an effect and use the mix knob? i am sure this is the intention.

really wondering, too, can i use the svt-7 power section as a power amp if i have a proper preamp such as one of the many sansamp selections or even one of many guitar preamps out there.

would you send a signal through the svt-7's preamp at a flat eq and then utililize the send and receive feature, and eq at the external preamp? or do you plug into a separate preamp and send that into the power amp in - thus totally bypassing the svt-7 pro's preamp?

i play bass with the buds most times, but sometimes i like to pull out the guitar, too. this seems like the addition of a guitar preamp and i will be set for all purposes.

maybe someone will pipe in and tell me that i can just send my guitar signal right through the svt-7 pro and i can just pretend i am mick taylor gettin' my ya ya's on! hey - a guy can dream right?

as usual - thanks for your input.

I've used my 7 pro fx loop with my mxr env.filter, set the mxr onto a pretty wet setting then used the fx blend to adjust it. Worked nicely.
I've used many bass amps for guitar & most sounded fine.
Haven't tried my 7 pro tho

Yep, plug the out of your preamp into the effects return of the 7 Pro and it'll bypass its preamp.

Try both and go with whichever one you like the most.

Hey, try it...worst that happens is it doesn't sound right to you. I've tried it with my Micro VR...it's not bad.

It sounds pretty good with guitar.
The Mesa Walkabout sounds good with guitar too.
