Svt 7 pro vs shuttle 9.0

I'm debating between these two heads. I play a wide variety of music. I've played both and like them both. I like the fact the shuttle will fit in my igig bag, but the ampeg sounds good too...,. Which would you choose?

I own the Shuttle. It's 75% lighter, about 10% less power, fits in a gig bag instead of a rack. The Ampeg has a compressor.

It's all about the sound to you personally. I like my SVT-7 Pro and if I want to I can take off the rack ears and carry it in a bag. Just 15.5 lbs.

I have both. The Ampeg is just a lightweight beast that sounds huge and robust, the 9.0 is small convenient, compact and articulate. Two completely different amps. The 9.0 just doesn't have the booty, comparatively speaking. My shuttle 9 is history at this point, heading out to make someone else very happy.

I've had a Shuttle 6 and a 9.2, but now own the SVT-7 Pro. All great amps, IMHO.

I have never been happier with an amp than I am with this 7-Pro. I play a variety of music from Rock to Gypsy on a variety of basses from actives with rounds to passives with flats to EUB's and I rarely touch the front of the amp once it's set (pretty much flat). It travels with no ears in one of these:

But there is a lot to be said for being able to stick an amp head in your gig bag, But I travel heavy anyway....

Thanks for the heads up on the bag. I'm gonna order one.

I love my 7 pro. Without the rack ears it fits just fine in a backpack or any other similarly sized bag.
