svt 7 vs TC RH 450

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking to get a new setup, my svt 4-10 hlf with a 2br in a rack with a tuner etc. is killing my back so I need to lighten up. Other than the obvious differences of each head, such as tuner on the 450, wattage etc. Has anyone tried them both and have suggestions?
If I go with the svt7 I would probably get two 2-10 ampeg pro neos, and if i would decide on the 450 I would probably go with the two 2-12's and maybe pick up a 2-10 later. Don't have close access to any to try and would like some ideas or feeback on these two systems. Also with TC how are they with service? Thanks in advance!

If you get the svt7 be sure to get 2 8ohm cabs.

Haven't tried the Ampeg you mention, but love my RH450! The tuner and 3 presets are worth the price of admission alone! The multi-band compressor can be nearly transparent, or quite squishy, and the Tube Tone is also a nice effect. It's the best "tube" sounding SS head I've ever tried.
