SVT-810E/AV 700 MOSFET Head

Ive been doing a lot of research lately in order to find the right rig. I was thinking 410 cab and a 500w head for $500. I now see a Hartke 700 MOSFET Head and a SVT-810E/AV. Extensive cosmetic damage, but the speakers and amp are not damaged. $375

Having never owned a rig, I come to you with a few questions.

The head: Power: 350 Watts Per Side at 4 Ohms
240 Watts Per Side at 8 Ohms

The cab: Nominal Impedance: 2 x 8-Ohms (Stereo)
Nominal Impedance: 4-Ohms (Mono)

what does all this mean? Im assuming I could run this cab at 4 ohms and get 350w per 4 speakers, for a total of 700w?? Or am I way off?

I forgot to mention that this is about 15 years old, but still in great sounding condition. Should its age raise a red flag?

The Ampeg is a stereo or mono cab. In stereo, it runs at 8 ohms per side. In mono it's a 4 ohm cab. So in stereo, you get two 8 ohm cabs. Running it with that Hartke, it'd get 480 watts of power (240 watts per side at 8 ohms). You could also have the option of eventually getting another 810 and run both together at 350 watts per side.

I'm not sure about Hartke, but older Ampeg = better Ampeg.

Thanks, I think I understand. So, I can run the 810 with this head at get 480 watts. My goal was to push 500w with whatever rig I get and this seems close enough. Hopefully by the time I need another 810 ill be making big bucks haha.

With some review searches and other info gathering, this seems like something I just may pick up.
