SVT-CL bias red led problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone,

I have a SVT-CL USA model. The problem with this amp is that I can't get one side biased well . The red and green led stays on all the time on one side . The other side works fine and has only a
green led.

I know for sure that the power tubes are matched properly. I tested on a Amplitrex Tube tester. The problem stays when we swapped the tubes from both sides Also i changed the driver tubes but no effect.

What could be the solution of this problem? Jerrold ???

I tried to bias mine. Thought it was ok. If I were you, I'd take it in to a Tech. The Bias is more than just setting leds correctly. It involves setting the Voltage correctly.
When I got it back, the leds looked VASTLY different than when I tried to set them. Trust me, you need a Tech.
ALSO: Get the Tech to check the GROUND WIRES on your Power Tubes. Whern mine was benched, he tore it right down and told me there were bad connections on these Tube sockets. Mine was made in America as well.

Thanks for the tip! My tech will check the ground wires tomorrow. He biased the amp with a bias prob and multi meter. Bias was set correct but still this red led stays red.

I PM'd you in reply to yours................ if the bias is correct but the circuit shows it as bad, then the circuit that shows the bias may have a problem.
