SVT CL construction ? Issues ?

Sign in to disble this ad
Been offerred one in trade for my Wt-800A. It has an issue though. The DI is dead.

I assume that these are PCB based amps ?

Are the DI's on these things a tough fix ? Is the DI worth worrying about ?

When issues occur with these amps, do they tend to cascade ? That is you have one, then another and another and so on ?

This one was recently retubed with Winged C's

Anybody run one of these into a fEarful ?

Thanks!

Yes printed circuit boards with connectors between them.

The DI is worth fixing and the repair shouldn't be expensive. See schematic below. There is an OP-amp that costs just over $1 and some components. It could be as simple as a dirty contact or bad connection.

There are no cascade issues with these amps.

Winged C power tubes are based on the original GE 6550A that are favored by a lot of folks if you want a high end NOS tube in the amp. Very good tube.
