SVT users...does your fan come on when you power up in standy by or does it wait until your amp has reached a certain temp before kicking in?
My svt had both bias lights on and a loud fan that starts right when I first hit power in standy by.
I've adjusted the bias and it's all greens now with red when I play but the fan still starts right away.
Ampeg says it's hooked to a temp circuit and shouldn't come on until a certtain temp which implies my tubes are being overheated though now my bias lights do not show that anything is amiss?
Yeah, I'd like to swap mine as well. After about a minute or so though it's pretty quiet, so I guess I'll leave it for now. New fans are about $25, but changing them might be a drag.
