SVT-CL - fan replacement

The fan in my 2003 SVT-CL is getting noisy, and I'm thinking about replacing it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get access to it? Surely there's a better way than by pulling out the power amp....

The front board that the fan is bolted to is held in place by velcro. It will be easier to remove if you slide the preamp out the front first by taking out the screws on top.
