SVT-CL Help

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay, I've got an SVT-CL and it isn't putting out. When I turn it on, the only way I can get anything is if I crank it extremely high which results in a lot of buzz and a weak signal. This leads me to believe that it's a power tube problem. Bias was good and flipping the polarity didn't work. Ohms were right. Everything was connected properly. Cab is the 8x10.

I checked the fuse, no problem. I checked all of the tubes, pre and power. They all seem to be fine.

I know fuses can be blown without looking like they're blown and I'm assuming the same will go for the tubes.

I've had the thing for a year and haven't changed the tubes yet and haven't had any previous problems.

Any help from those who have experienced this or from those who may be able to provide some insight into the problem would be appreciated.

Does it go into protection mode when you turn it on? If bias looks good and it doesnt go into protection mode i would suspect a bad pre amp tube. If not i would take it into the repair shop.
