I had my SVT crap out last night.. the power button flashed.. GREEN/RED, etc.. repeat.. I got the amp home, ran it for 12+ hours so far and no problem.. the manual states I could have a preamp power tube out.. could this have overheated? I had it on for 4 hours.. but I put it in STANDBY between sets..
Do you guys power your SVT CLs down between sets? and lose the tube warmth.. I am getting tired of this amp.. I love its sound, but I had to switch to genz benz during a show.. this is now the 2nd time this has occurred because of the CL.. the first time was a tube issue. I had the entire thing retubed and checked.. by someone who is an authorized dealer no less.
Yes, I will take it back in.. but I wonder if was a fluke power issue at the club.. I am taking it in no matter what.. but this amp is seeming more and more high maintenance everyday.. with my VT pedal, the Genz sounded like the ampeg.. with more pronounced mids.. that being said, the shuttle 6.0's lack of power was immediately noticeable.. like comparing Bambi (Genz) to King Kong (ampeg). I am just wondering how I can run this 12+hours at home.. in standby granted.. but still..and have no problems. The tubes are biased perfectly as well..
when I got it retubed the guy ran it for 72 hours str.. and I've played it at at least 10 shows before I had more problems.. Thoughts appreciated.
